The following are the few design challenges we have remaining for v0.7. If Daniel sent you this link and you’re new to Edit Flow, we’d love to have your help solving them. Feel free to update what you want to take on, leave questions, mockups, etc. in the comments. If you need code to work with, the working version of v0.7 is available on Github. We’re hoping to get an alpha testing version out in the next few days so there’s a bit of a time crunch.
Icon/Logo
In the admin, our menu and title icons look something like this:
On the main website we have a logo of sorts, but it’s very large and doesn’t work well in other contexts.
It would be awesome to have a simple, straightforward logo that worked across these multiple contexts.
Calendar
One significant feature of Edit Flow is an editorial calendar. Modeled much after Basecamp, the calendar view shows you upcoming content in 4 week increments (configurable).
There are two big problems. As you can see, the items for each day look like jank and the calendar as a whole won’t work that well when there are many items. Furthermore, we’ll be adding the ability to show editorial metadata on the calendar that’s going to add more information. In addition to aesthetic, this challenge will require a fair amount of UX creativity.
Editorial Metadata
It would be nice if the Editorial Metadata post meta box made use of all of the space available when it’s below the editor.
Settings
Our settings page looks like this:
It would be awesome if it looked like Jetpack:
Thanks in advance for your help!
